Welcome! This blog is for the purpose of posting my ingenious ideas, answers, and comments about EDM MAC 613, my group, and the required reading and videos as well as sharing the ideas, answers and comments of my classmates. I look forward to learning much about media and how to appropriately, beneficially, & effectively use it in the classroom and in my life.
Hey Donna, I agree that copyright has a lot of gray issues and probably for a reason. I would think that most creations are created so that they can be shared with the world. But what is the world allowed to do with those creations? I think that because there is such a blurred line, people tend to make their own guideline as to how we will interact with copyright. It's not quite a cheat sheet, but the Library of Congress has a little website with videos and interactivity for students called Taking the Mystery out of Copyright at www.loc.gov/teachers/copyrightmystery. It is a great website to visit with students at the beginning of the year. Of course we can use things copy-written if we cite. Consider all the wonders that APA has taught us. Our texts our copy-written and when we use them we cite them.
